Birthday Bash
To open our 2025 season, Old Cowtown Museum began a new year by celebrating our 75th birthday. Founded in April of 1950, Old Cowtown Museum has been a staple in Wichita for decades. Starting with one building, the church, we now encompass 23 acres comprised of over 40 buildings.
Despite the early morning rainy conditions, Cowtown kicked off the new year in style. Our wonderful volunteer groups interacted with and performed for our visitors. We held trivia contests, performed gunsfights, showcased dancers, and hosted vendors. Staff and volunteers put on a wonderful day.
At 12:30, we hosted Mayor Wu and Coucilman Hoheisel for a ribbon cutting ceremony. Both our Board President and our Executive Director joined them in front of the church, honoring the first building that started Cowtown.

Special thanks to everyone who helped us make this a special day. If you have not visited Cowtown recently, please consider a trip this year in honor of our 75th birthday. Cheers to Cowtown!
