Followers of these posts will know that Old Cowtown Museum is beginning to start construction on a brand-new exhibit building. We will soon have a building representing the Wichita Carriage Works.
Recently the museum has acquired additional photographs of the Wichita Carriage Works business. Run by the McKenzie family, this business stood on the corner of First and Water Streets for decades. They began building carriages and buggies for the local Wichita citizens. As the transition to motorized vehicles began, the Wichita Carriage Works evolved with the times and transitioned as well.
